Looking for advice about onboard RAID 0 with 4 drives, SATA2/3

Forum Storage : Hard Drives Looking for advice about onboard RAID 0 with 4 drives, SATA2/3

I currently have a 2tb samsung F4 and am looking to achieve two goals:

-Significantly increase my storage speed
-Set up a backup solution

What I'm looking at right now is getting four Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s, and setting them up in RAID 0 on my P8P67 Pro. This way, I can have a fast RAID setup (no plans on getting a controller just yet - I think my 2500k should be able to handle it), and I can use my F4 to do nightly incremental backups.

My main question is will I be able to use these SATA3 drives on the four SATA2 ports on my motherboard without any issues? Will it even affect the speed, or is SATA2 more than enough?

Yes, you will suffer no performance loss with 4 SATA 3 HDDs in RAID-0 on SATA 2 ports.
They cannot spin fast enough to saturate the ports.
