Operating System on Second Connector?

Forum Storage : NAS/RAID Operating System on Second Connector?

Word :    Username :

Hello

We have a Dell server with a Perc H700 controller

There appears to be two connectors in the server, 0 and 1

Connector 0 has four drive bays
Connector 1 has two drive bays

Will the following setup work?

Connector 0 - Four 300GB disks in a RAID 10 for SQL databases
Connector 1 - Two 146GB disks in a RAID 1 for Operating System

Obviously I can't use connector 0 for the RAID 1 OS otherwise I would not be able to make up the RAID 10 from the remaining four 300gb disks as they would be on different connections.

Thanks :)

Yes, in the BIOS you should be able to set which is the boot drive.
