Hello,

I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 internal hard drive I took out of an aging desktop and I'd like to find an external cover that it fits into. I've already ordered the wrong thing (too small) from newegg so I'd like to get it right this time. It says its a ATA(SATA) drive model ST380819AS.

i guess my question is how to i determine what the proper size/configuration case is? what do i look for on a product description like newegg and know i have the right cover?

hard-drive only exist in 3.5 and 2.5 inch. an internal harddrive is probably 3.5 inch, so jusy buy a cover for that and it should be fine

Buy a dock which support both 2.5 and 3.5 drive is going to be a better investment.

thank you

this is what i thought but i wanted to make sure. somehow i ordered a 2.5 when i knew that i needed a 3.5, i think i just clicked the wrong one into the cart and didnt notice while i completed the order

i like those docking stations but i need the drive to be enclosed for travel

thanks again
