Well hybrid drives different from standard hard drives in that it integrates a cache using non-volatile memory or even a small solid-state drive. Seagate momentus comes with 8GB SLC NAND.

Cool technology but I'll be sticking with my goo ol' 500gb drive until my next build :)

i read a while back that samsung was having firmware issues on their drives. Thats why when I build my laptop, I chose a 120gb ssd + 500gb hdd. I have windows and essential programs on the ssd, and games /movies etc.. on the 500gb

I have a 750 gig xt drive with sata 3 it is nice once you do things a few times and the SSD portion caches your os and prefered apps those apps and os runs as if it is on a SSD maybe a little slower but def faster than a normal laptop drive... All in all I'm glad I got it I would have prefered an SSD over this but I like the 750 gigs so best option for the price right now for what I needed.
