Hi,

I use windows XP. After I burn files to DVD disc using Nero 8, (after successfull completion), the drive shows 0 files. When I restart the computer the files in the DVD drive are properly displayed.

How Can this problem be solved?

thanking you

Have you tried eject the disk and reinserting it?

Built in DRM on newer DVD drives for PCs create many of these problems. Try loading a CD (not a DVD) with burned files, open it up in Explorer, then replace the CD with the burned DVD. This usually works (I have to do this with my DVD archives of MP3 files) and is easier than constantly rebooting. Loading the CD first removes the DRM restrictions on the drive that are more restrictive on DVDs.

thanks for the reply. But I wonder how this problem came up all of a sudden.

Yes, I have tried that. Still the zero files are displayed. I have to reboot the computer to see the files in the CD/DVD.

Maybe then the DRM is the issue like stated above.

I uninstalled 2 recently installed software; and the problem seems to be gone!

Good news that the problem is solved but can you inform us what software was creating the issue?

I had recently installed VTech's Learning Lodge Navigator and Dell Driver download Manager.

I uninstalled both these softwares and the problem got rectified. I don't know which of the above applications was creating the problem.

My suspicion would go against the download manager but what matters it is solved.
