Hello,
I just bought the Corsair GT 240 SSD and put it in my ASUS Sabertooth X58 mobo. I put it in the grey SATA 6GB/s slot, I'm using the included SATA 3 cable, and I set my computer to AHCI but using Crystal Disk Markit's only running at 300 mb/s which if I remember correctly thats the cap for SATA 2. The SSD is rated for 555 mb/s I know the 555 isn't going to happen but atleast 400 should be easy. So any and all suggestions as to why its capped at 300 mb/s would be greatly appreciated.

If that is the marvell controller then that is your issue. On a good day it can reach max about 320!

Some one mentioned that a PCI-E SATA 3 controller with its own drivers could help reach the SSD full speed, but the only ones I found were for raiding. Is there a SATA 3 PCI-e Controller card for a single SATA 3?

The Raid controllers can handle a single drive in ACHI mode no problem but PCIe x1 version 2.0 is limited at roughly 5GB/s still better than the marvell! I personally would though tolerate the situation as is until next upgrade!
