Hi All,

I have tried to get files from my old HDD drive. I used to run Windows XP on it and had a USER password on boot up. I have managed to copy some files (using new pc windows 7) with the Hard Drive in the case with the others. I cannot get any of the documents though in my old user account despite trying to take ownership and added admin priviliges.

Anyone know how I can access these as want to get off these files and photos and then format it and have it for LINUX as a seperate drive.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have successfully used TestDisk (free) to recover data from 500GB HDDs from broken RAID1 arrays. Read the wiki for the examples. It works in DOS mode through windows, and it helps to have a separate HDD for holding the recovered folders and documents.
