the free space available on my secondary drive won't update...reflecting 928GB free of 931GB in COMPUTER menu even though I am storing data into it. the data used indicator bar is NIL. Can I fix this?

Not sure if this will help, but have you tried selecting the drive and then hitting the F5 key. F5 is generally the refresh command.
