I'm trying to install a Crucial 128GB SSD on a Z68XP-UD3 but I'm having problems.

When I boot up my computer after installing, it got stuck at the BIOS screen, if I try to enter the boot menu or bios config or etc, the computer crashes. I thought I needed a new motherboard. I even tried reseting the CMOS.

Right before I bought a new motherboard, on a hunch, I pulled out the cable connecting the SSD to the motherboard, and try booting again. I get some checksum error message and then the computer boots properly.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Try plugging your SSD into one of the motherboards SATA II ports and see what happens. Your SATA III controller may have issues.
