Im working on a School server (dell poweredge 1800) and it has a Adaptec CERC SATA1.5/6ch but i can't install windows server 2003 or 2008 64x don't know what the problem is. i tried drivers and went through the bios. i've also seen that its really only for 32x but they came out with a driver for 64x in like 2007. i need help fast and if nothing can be done with this card please suggest another one. thanks

Download and burn at the Dell Systems Build and Update Utility - SBUU DVD, and then the Dell Windows OS install support pack. Boot on the SSBU DVD and follow the instructions. It will setup things you need to install SBS 2003 or SBS 2008R2. Just be sure to select the correct OS when it asks. For SBS 2011 select SBS 2008 R2 x64. When you install Windows you will then need the CERC SATA1.5/6ch x64 driver.

I have 6 such systems and they work great.
