My computer using XP does not recognize the DVD writer only the cd

If I understand it correctly, your DVD writer doesn't recognize DVD.
Was everything working fine before? Did anything change on your computer??
Is it only with one specific DVD or all DVDs. If it is only with one specific DVD, did you try the same DVD on some other computer.
Please provide more information and somebody in forums would be able to assist.

I solved the problem by reloading nero

I fixed the problem by reloading Nero.
