i have a LG CH12LS28 which i just got recently installed, it played a blu ray disc once, then when i turned off my computer and turned on the next day it wouldn't recognize any blu ray discs but will still play very other type of disc..

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Have it replaced. I see such failure before. Its a bad drive just have it replaced.

yeah your were right the drive was faulty,

Murphy's Law....it happens..

LG drives are good. My blue ray writer/burner is ~ 4 years old... Still runs
