I have an i5-2500k @ 4.5 with the noted heatsink. I may just be worried for no reason, but the idle and load temps seem a little high compared to other similar setups.

Case is Corsair Carbide 500r, and I have recently added two topside cougar 140mm fans.

After just a few mins with prime95 my temps become:
Core 0 - 58
Core 1 - 64
Core 2 - 66
Core 3 - 67
Package - 70

I realize there should be SOME differences in the core temps, at least when running actual programs, but when running prime95/equal processes on each core I expected them to be closer temps.

Also, touching 70 also makes me question it.

Am I just worried for no reason, or should I be taking another look at my heatsink installation. As an added note, I'm not sure how it is for others, but my heatsink has a little motion to it i.e. it can shift a bit. I assumed this was the nature of the "pressure plate" setup, as any attempt to tighten the configuration were met with 0 progress.

Thanks ahead of time!

depends on your voltage, but temps look normal to me at that OC and Prime95

edit:

You don't want any play in the cooler. tighten it up.

Core volt is 1.336 while running prime95.

I'll take another look at the heatsink and tighten it down some more.

Thanks for the input.
