So I bought a 3.00 X3 Rana anthlon II proc and i got a new motherboard, the msi 870 g-45 and that unlocked it and overclocked it into a 3.60 Phenom II X4 B40 but do you think that would bottleneck my new Overclocked 6870?

Thanks for suggestions on procs i should buy, much appreciated!

i think you should be ok. sounds like a solid build. did you unlock the L3 cache too?

No I did not.

II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2Ghz

Is just 135 bucks free shipping, i could sell mine unlocked plus my old 4890 to buy it, think it would be a worthwhile upgrade?

Also I tried OC'ing it and i cannot further it more than x15 which is 3.6, from 3.0 which was auto chosen by mobo, also, the msi 870 g-45 can run the II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2Ghz right?

Weird though, check out this review: "Enabling AMD's "Cool'n Quiet" feature helps with the noisy OEM fan, reducing the core clock speed from 3200 MHz all the way down to 800 MHz and helps keep CPU core temp down as well. While in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit playing a movie in DTS at 1080p my core temp is about 35c. This quad core CPU is awesome.

Combined with expanded video, at least 4 GB of RAM and ample HDD space, you can have a pretty mean setup.

My overall rating? Awesome. Worth the $140.

CPUz reports the core voltage (stock) at 1.192 V, core speed at 799.9 MHz with a x4 multiplier. ( [...] )

7.3? Mine does 7.4 and 3dmark vantage of 11k

Oh it did do 11k on 3dmark vantage while gpu did 16k, dunno if that means bottleneck...

i dont think your processor and graphics score has to match up. a quad core at 3.6-4.0 should be plenty to run a 6870

i'M PULLING 200-300 fully maxxed @ 1900x1200 in team fortress to and barely 45 fps on witcher 2...optimization ftw
