Recently i bought a new gtx 560 and its bin running under full load at 85-87C, i just want to know if this is normal for this card?
it seems high to me. i Just installed 2 new cooler master 120mm fans in the side panel and it doesn't seem to have dropped the temp much, maybe 1-2C. Iv set it up to have one intake fan(Front) and three exhaust fans(rear and side panels). Any one got any suggestions on how to drop the temp, and the best fan set up(more intakes vs more exhaust )?
will post pics in necessary.

That's not really abnormal for a video card.

You want intake fan in the front bottom.

You want exhaust fans at the back top and top.

More exhaust than intake.

You have some decent gear(cpu,gpu,psu)the biggest problem is the budget case.
If you upgraded the case your temps will drop -10C at least imo.
A CM 430 is cheap.

That's pretty high for 560. My evga maxes out at 72 on 40% fan rpm. What is ur fan rpm at?

iv bin reading online and most people are maxed out around 70 to 75. so 85 seemed off to me.

case fans running off the psu at full speed(+-2000rpm) and gpu fan at 75%, witch is as far as fast as it goes according to MSI afterburner

I highly recommend flipping the two side fans to intake. even tho is may change CPU temps. your GPU temps will change for the better. Your not going to get any good temps with a budget case. more research and you can get a better Air Flow Budget case. like the CM Storm Enforcer. and the Corsair 400R are good cases with better airflow. you want a case with more fan ports in the top. better exhaust out the top. Hot air rises theory

Not bad i recommend that case sometimes = it's really cheap in Canada,under $40.

i removed a hdd and sorted out my cables. Temp dropped quite abit, running under full load @ 75-77C. how many degrees could i drop by if i bough a new case? will it be worth getting a new one? or should i put the money towards getting another gtx 560 to sli

Easy way to tell if you have airflow problems:

1) remove side of your case
2) blow house fan or desk fan on HIGH into side of your case
3) note temps, compare differences

If your temps remain the same, it likely isn't airflow but limitation of your coolers or a problem with them (if you feel temps are still too high).

If your temps drop, you have an airflow problem and should address with better/more case fans, or better case...or both.

Can u even fit another gpu. It sound like u have pretty small case.

Yeah definitely, my current one is only 200mm long, and you could fit a psu with space under it. THink ill just buy a case in the next week.

think about the zalman Z9. it has space for 7 fans. and its pretty cheap
