I do know how water cooling works, and what I need etc. I'm just curious what one would expect to pay. I'm going to need a block for Ivy Bridge cpu and 7970. Guessing about $100 each? I'm just curious is $500 a good expected amount to spend or no? I'm currently just doing a budge of my full build and how much I'll be making in the next few months for a reference on everything.
Also I'm guessing like an i5 equivalent of ivy bridge will be like $300 dollars or so?
I ask because right now I'm at about $2350 before water cooling and my monitor I'd really like to not spend any more than $3100 or so before taxes and shipping
$500 is a safe estimate. I spent about $500 on my initial loop (i5 + 6950 2GB), but there were parts I could have bought to save money and still get very similar performance.
Full cover GPU blocks are ~$100-120, but universal blocks are around $50-60 and work just as well (switched from FC to Uni myself). A good CPU block will be between $50-70. The XSPC Raystorm is one of the best and is relatively cheap compared to most of the field.
Your rad(s) and pump will usually be the most expensive combo, since you don't want to skimp on either.
