OC Question

Forum Overclocking : General Discussion OC Question

Hello again everyone! I am kind of noobish when it comes to OCing and I am trying to milk everything out of my old system that I can before having to upgrade. I have been searching all over to find a decent overclock for my chip and I believe I found one but I wanted to know two things...

1) Is this a safe overclock?
2) Can I/Should I go Higher

The reason I ask is because I have a gtx 580 coming (which will be paired with an Ivy Bridge when they come out) and I want to limit as much of the bottleneck as I can until I can upgrade the rest of my system.

MY Specs:

Chip:Q6600 G0 @3.15
RAM:4 gig DDR 800 ram (generic, but it has worked so far)
MoBo: MSI P6N SLI Platinum
HDD: SATA HDD (WD)
Case: HAF 932
PSU: Corsair HX850
GPU: 8800gtx

My overclock:

Q6600 G0 VID 1.2750 2.4Ghz @ 3.15Ghz.
FSB: 1400
MEM: 700 (instead of 800 stock, to run 1:1)
MP: 9
CPU V: 1.275
MEM V: AUTO
NB: 1.5
SB: 1.5
FSB VTT%: 20%
C1E, Spread, HPET etc.: ALL OFF!

Right now CoreTemp shows me idle at 39c and under load it hits around 55 (normal usage, gaming an such, not using Prime95)
No errors in Prime but temps hit around 65c. Tj Max says 100c for this chip though.

So what do you think? Can I go higher? Should I go higher? It is all air cooled BTW.

If you need any more info just ask!
