I have just recently built myself a new budget gaming pc. I used the AMD FX 4100 and have heard that the bulldozer chip is very easy to overclock as well as having nice headroom. However, being very nervous about breaking my new system and having no overclock experience, I decided to try AMD's Overdrive autoclock feature. It only bumped my 3.6ghz to 3.9ghz and things held at a very good temp, 49C under load. Immediately I started to notice some slugishness, tiny lockups, and origin just completely failed to load. Due to these problems I quickly rolled back the changes in Overdrive. The cpu is now sitting back at its normal clock but problems continue to persist. Origin still won't open even after reinstall. Some games run fine like The Witcher 2 and Dead Space 2, but Desus Ex: Human Revolution sends the system to blue screen. Here is the blue screen error i am getting.....BCCode: 124. It seems that anything that attempts to use multiple cores locks it up, is one of my cores bad now? System specs are listed below. Please someone help me fix my new computer, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3
CPU: AMD FX 4100
Ram: 4x KINGSTON HYPER-X 4 GB DDR3/ 1600 MHZ
Video card: AMD RADEON HD6850 1GB DDR5 PCIE
Boot Drive: 60 GB OCZ AGILITY 3 SATA III SSD
Hard Drive 2: 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA3
Cooler: ASETEK 510LC 120MM WATERCOOLER
Powersuply: XTREMEGEAR 700 WATT POWER SUPPLY

Reset your bios to factory default.
Don't use software based overclock apps = they suck!
Test your ram= one stick at a time

Download toolbox and possible firmware update for the SSD.
Did you install the drives and O/S with AHCI enabled!

After some driver reinstalls things seem to have stabilized. I plan on testing my ram to be safe and reseting my bios. I do not believe I have AHCI enabled, my regedit msahci value is 3, from what i can tell a value of 0 means it is enabled. I plan on setting up trim and ahci, any suggestions?

Yep that's right.
1.Exit all Windows-based programs.
2.Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
3.If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
4.Locate and then click one of the following registry subkeys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IastorV

5.In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
6.In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
7.On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.
Personally i'd re-install Win7 on the ssd after checking the bios for AHCI enabled.

Holy crap, just enabled AHCI and speed difference is amazing, thank you so much for pointing that out.

After recent mishap I am a little wary of overclocking but still have the desire. Will an overclock from the bios present the same dangers or should i go for it?

Yes the speed difference is certainly noticeable, even with a mechanical hdd.
Read some guides specifically for your mobo regarding overclocking.
Manual bios settings are the best way.
