Maximizing my gaming FPS?

Forum Overclocking : General Discussion Maximizing my gaming FPS?

I recently picked up a Phenom II 960t Zosma that I managed to unlock it to all 6 cores. Here's my question:
I'm running the CPU as X6 @ 3.6GHz. Will it benefit me (game FPS) if I were to step back down to X4 and possibly overclock it past 3.6GHz?

I'm running it with a GTX 260 55nm that's also overclocked. Hmm... perhaps this is just a wasted effort?

X6 @ 3.6GHz -or- X4 >3.6GHz?

hardly, you will only increase gaming performance overclocking CPU's when it is throtling the video card, and i don't think this is happening on your 260.

Really i don't think it wastes the effort (for gaming).
