any boards by gigabyte or asus. look towards gigabyte if you want cheap, asus if you want awesomeness (personal preference.) as far as the chip, go for a phenom x6 or bulldozer if you really want... but i wouldn't.

What do you mean by budget? Give us a specific price range. But before you buy your AMD board, the i3 2100 outperforms even the highest end AMD CPUs BTW.

i can get an i5 2500 for 179.00 at microcenter

what motherboard would you recomend and is the onchip video better than onboard video?

The Maximus can OC better and has awesome aesthetics. The ASRock is still a great performer if you can't afford it.

the cheapest mobo for 990FX chipset.

talk about overclocking, this board is not bad..:D

I would never go for an AMD CPU since they are out of the CPU market.

Go with Intel 2500 k if you can afford to. though to build a system will be costlier
if your on a budget go with AMD 3870 ,hd6670 and Asus ATX board
for a total of around 300$
check youtube if want to compare the graphics of these setups
