Hi all, I made a post yesterday about o/cing this e7300:

and just have a couple more questions if anyone can help

I didn't change any voltages due to yet another thread more focused to the e7300 telling me not to up the voltage and left it as auto, this still kept the ddr2 o/v control and FSB o/v control as +0.2v but doesn't specify a vcore voltage in bios (obviously)
and CPU-Z reports vcore as 1.264v, now I know this reported number won't be right but am assuming from other threads that this would be close (more than likely higher) than the ideal voltage for the chipset due to intel's automation apparently choosing a higher vcore than necessary (is that correct?)

Overclocked to 3.2 GHz, I've run prime for 8 hours on blend, average load temp was 63, spiked to 66 after 50 minutes and highest was 72 after 6 hours, mind you I did pick a ridiculously hot day to test so I'm sure the ambient temp didn't help (summer has finally arrived in sydney... about freakin time)

1. So, basically, are those core temps acceptable for the e7300?

I'm using a hyper101 coolermaster fan (cheap, but shaved around 10c off stock intel fan) so it has some cooling at least, but clueless as to what I should regulate the voltage to or what temps are good, getting conflicting answers everywhere, some say never let it go over 65c for long periods, others say <90c, some say don't change the voltage, others say up it by .1v, another says trial and error, which strikes me as strange that anyone would play roulette with voltages on a chipset, but hey, I'm no expert...

2. Is there a textbook vcore I should be aiming for to keep this running at 3.2GHz properly or is it truly just trial and error (should I drop it to stock voltage and test/retest stability) or should I take what cpu-z tells me for vcore, use that as a rough guide and set to something a little lower and test from there?

3. My Ram timing changed to 6/5/5/15 @320MHz, is this normal?

Thanks again in advance and apologies for being so anal, I just know these chips only have a limited amount of smoke in them, and once I let that out it's screwed ;-) better safe than sorry

Core speed: 1600.2(on x6.0) when idling 2400.1(on x9) under load

After Tune-up:

Core speed: 3200.3MHz (on x10)
Bus Speed: 320MHz
Rated FSB 1280.1MHz

Max temp for your processor (tj maxx) is 100 C. So your temps are just fine, especially if it was a particularly warm day. Cheers.

Yea got back to toying with it, amazing how much better it runs now, just wasn't sure about the voltage being on auto and the ram timing having changed, weather's settled itself and haven't seen temps go above 60 with skyrim running almost full graphics for over 2 hours... loaded it up pretty hard to try it out too frames are a heap better now so fingers crossed it's all good

Am assuming the voltage will be ok from now, but still a bit confused about the ram timing being changed, any idea there?
