I've been deciding between which of these 2 would be a good upgrade for my cooler. Planning to upgrade my cpu in the near future so just doing some proactive shopping. Still new to computer components but learning as much as I can. I only chose these ones because of their ability to attach to the current AMD mounting system. Thanks in advance. I have top and rear mounted exhausts.

Identical units! the top down SCRT-1000 (Rasetsu) is a YASYA turned on its side.
It offers people with cases under 7" wide a large heat sink.
The Yasya is a good unit with the ability to add a 2nd fan.
Rasetsu = 130mm tall
Yasya=159mm tall.

Most cases over 7.4" wide will support 159mm tall heatsinks.
What case do you have?

It will be fine.
Personally i'd buy a CM 212+ or EVO.
Cheap,easy to mount,come with a tube of good paste,and cool very well.

I've been on the fence about ones with new mounting brackets. I looked at the guide in the sticky and am still unsure. Is it difficult to do with the mobo installed with a cut out in the back and how much pressure should I apply when screwing it on.

You'd have to remove the mobo from your case.
What cpu?

It's one of the easiest coolers to install.
The Yasya is huge and a pita to install = even though its clip-on.
If you don't want to use a back-plate cooler this isn't bad.

Thanks for the link that really helped me get a better understanding. I'll be closing this, I might go with the 212 after all. Are all Coolermaster installations of the 212 kind? And big thank you again dav, learning little by little every day.
