Im trying to underclock my video card, since it appears to be a solution for crashes in Battlefield 3.
Using MSI afterburner it appears that my,
core clock (MHz) is 742
shader clock (MHz) is 1484
by default.
This is factory standard, as my PC is fairly new. I've never tampered with Overclocking, besides using SpeedFan/other programs to check temps/ fan speeds.
I wish to underlock my GPU by 100MHz
Would I need to do, for this to be safe? Do I need to change voltage as well? What's shader clock? I dont want to damage my hardware and effect warranty.
2nd question:
I've used CPUID's Hardware monitor.
It shows that CPUTIN is 90 degrees Celsius idle.
I have a i7 2600K, and each individual core is at around 30 degrees Celsius.

You should just need to slide the bars on Afterburner to the left to lower the clocks on your card, you can do this without effecting your warranty (as its all software)
I would make sure all my drivers are up to date before underclocking, seems to me like your card shouldn't have issues with stock speed...what brand is your card?
Many cards struggle with stock speed for that game. I think it's due to that game. Not that it's GPU demanding. I just want to safely underclock.
If you could answer everything in the first question, that would be great.
