I cannot tell if my 6950 unlocked

Forum Overclocking : Graphics Cards I cannot tell if my 6950 unlocked

I know there have been a few posts on this, but my situation is a bit different. I have a Sapphire HD 6950 2gb with a switch. I moved the switch to the position farthest away from he crossfire hub (away from the connectors into the case). I saved the bios and used the command prompt to flash with ati winflash. It flashed, but no shaders. I tried using ati winflash directly. It flashed, but again no shaders. Finally, I used RBE. Nothing. No shaders. Is my card hard locked? The weird thing is when I checked RBE it said the bios my card had on it had 6970 shaders, as did the original bios. But they do not show up[ on Trixx or gpu-z. My guess is that it is hard locked but I would like confirmation first.

If it worked it should show up as such in GPUZ. Are you tweaking your own BIOS or did you download a 6970 BIOS?

I tried the first and I downloaded a modified 6950 bios. I have never tried a 6970 bios. I was worried about stability.

Well if it's unstable, you have the BIOS switch to go back ;)

Anyway not sure how much more help I can be besides pointing you to this thread:

Did you try flashing with the bios switch in the first position (closest to the xfire connection)? I've heard some people that could flash in the first but not the second.
