Which liquid cooling kit to cool i7 960, Corsiar H40 or CoolIt ECO ALC???

Hey Guys

just wondering Which liquid cooling kit I should use to cool my intel core i7 960, I'm currently using an arctic freezer pro 7 rev 2, which would be the better choice & best value for money etc, Corsiar H40 or CoolIt ECO ALC as they both look pretty good, Please could you guys tell me which is better as they both cost around £45.00

opinions would be greatly appreciated

thank you

Is the only reason for you to get either that they look cool? Because for the price they are rather aenemic when it comes to performance.

Are you overclocking and if so how much?

What case do you have and do you move it a lot?

In most situations a similar priced air cooler will beat out a closed water loop.

A £45 air cooler will be a much better choice. Currently the only Closed loop watercooling kit that is better than the best air cooler is the H100 - the H80 is on par with The Noctua and Phanteks coolers (but it is horribly loud) - the H60 has lower performance and the H40 will dissapoint you.

The Frio is a good all-round cooler - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/the [...] cpu-cooler

The Venomous X is excellent too - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/the [...] d-with-fan

And for an extra few £ you can get one of the leading coolers.

NZXT Havok 140 - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nzx [...] m2plus-am2

Hi its not really the looks of the liquid cooling units, I was just curious about the peformance,
I dont do any overclocking & my case is a CIT Vantage midi tower Gamers case:http://www.slatinaforum.ro/forum/alte-componente/21794-vand-carcasa-gaming-cit-vantage-black-midi-130-neg.html & i dont move it that often.

Antec cooler H2O 620 = better then either one you've mentioned
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ant [...] -am3-3plus
Buy proper ram for your mobo.
8GB of dual channel ram isn't for a triple channel X58 mobo.
Your ram is running in single channel mode
X58 ram uses 3 sticks of triple channel ram

MY RAM is G.skill ripjaws x 8GB (2X4GB) 6X4GB=24GB, (4GB per slot), I know X58 uses triple channel RAM the only triple channel kits were (6GB=3X2GB & 12GB=3x4GB etc) & I wanted more than 6GB but didnt want as much as 12GB RAM so I felt 8GB (2X4GB) was the best option, also i did not want 4x2gb kit, but i can get where youre coming from about using triple channel RAM that it would be more beneficial, also i will take a look at the antec Khuler H20 620

Thanks

Page 16 of your manual.
Explains that you are not running in single channel mode.

I never said anything about running in single channel mode, I know 2X4GB is Dual Channel configuration, Also I'm aware X58 works & peforms best with Triple channel RAM but is also compatible in Dual Channel mode as well.
