Ok, so I just bought new RAM. It is ddr3 1600 and the link for it is below...

So today, I went into my BIOS and found out that my max dram frequency through the BIOS is only 800 MHz. Shouldn't the RAM go up to 1600 MHz since my motherboard (link below) supports it?

Please help by providing instructions. I would like to reach my RAM's full potential.

ddr= double data rate. It runs at half the frequency you think it should. 800mhz is actually 1600mhz.

Its similar to your CPU multiplier, if your FSB (front side bus) is at a speed of 220 and your multiplier is at 15x, then your CPU would be running at 3330MHz or 3.3Ghz. your memory reads just like Benikens stated at "double (2) data rate" there for a speed of 800x2 will be/is 1600MHz.
