HI!

So after my previous mobo had a nice pint of lemonade spilt on it removing my OC I will be replacing it with the Asus Sabertooth, I will also be swapping coolers to the phanteks ph-tc14pe, which will outperform my previous cooler (domino ALC) which I had been able to get a 4ghz overclock, relatively stable.

Either way I will be testing my cpu's ability to overclock and I require some settings to try.
So ideally what I need are ~ known working settings for 4-4.5 ghz overclocks for the 920, bare in mind upto 4.5 is solely for testing purposes to see how far I can actually push it.

Thanks
Sig

1.62V for 4.5Ghz screenshot...I had a horrible 920.

obviously don't follow other peoples settings if it could damage your CPU.

What are your settings for 4Ghz?

BIN THAT CHIP SIGGY.

No but Srsly Siggy, the chance that you will hit 4.5Ghz is very slim - especially regarding your wonderful little i7 has probably degraded to hell.

I wouldnt go higher than 1.4v on your Processor - and 1.45v on your QPI but for a stable 4.5ghz 1.5QPI and 1.45v on Processor may be needed, which to be honest is WAY too high.

If you insist on doing this - then try 1.4v on Processor, 1.25v on QPI, 1.65v on RAM, 1.875v on PLL, IOH Vcore on 1.1v, VTT on 1.25v, IOH/ICH I/O on 1.5v, ICH Vcore on 1.05v with your Bus Speed @ 214.3 x 21 (4500.3mhz)

Most folk run 1.3 to 1.35v for stable 24/7 OC on the Vcore and 1.25v for the QPI. Assuming your chip is a D0 Stepping it will hit 4.0 - 4.2Ghz with those settings.

DJ, WASH DEM JEANS

And yes I insist, I am going to be taking this to the point of it hitting 95 degrees or until I get scared.

Dependant on the results I will probs be leaving it at whatever clock speed stables out at 75 degrees~
