I am in the process of building a gaming rig from head to toes, which I intend to OC (both GPU and CPU).
However, I'll have this job done by someone else because I know few about hardware and I woudn't to break or do anything wrong.
I just saw a video of the Asus Rog overclock tool called Asus Rog GPU Tweak, which is only available for Asus Rog-ready mobo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yr8rMSbfko Actually, I really need a tool like that.
So the question is: Do I need any specific motherboard to use such a friendly tool , or can any motherboard support it ?
Here's the rig so far:
CPU: i7 2600K
Memory: 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz (2x4GB)
HD: 120Gb or 160Gb SDD
PSU: some good branded 850W
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7970
OS: Win7 64bit
Mobo: ? ? ?

Most boards come with there own software like that, but for your cpu it is just a matter of pushing the multiplier. It should not be too hard to get a decent overclock(4.4-4.6 with minimal if any voltage increase).
the intel k cpus are very easy to overclock a 3 min youtube video could teach you if you have any common sence im sure youll do fine without the tool lol
