Forum Overclocking : CPUs [Solved] Verifying something

I have an older Q8300 system sitting on my desk that I decided to fix some things, and to learn overclocking with.

Now, I need something cleared up about the actual stock clock speeds of the CPU, FSB, and RAM.

I know for sure that the CPU is rated at 2.5ghz @ 333 X 7.5.
The FSB is really running at 333 mhz right?

Now the real confusion sets in: The "actual" clock speed for the 800mhz(PC2-6400) RAM is 200 mhz right? Even thou the package says 800mhz?

Now, what if I ran the CPU at 400 x 6.5? The mobo has a physical jumper setting on the board for 400 mhz, but I have yet to figure out what setting I need to get the 6.5, and if I can do that can I get a performance improvement between the CPU and the RAM/Mobo?

Also, I'm under the impression that some kind of clock setting(ratio?) for the RAM would need to be changed, although I'm not sure as the clocks are decoupled....

I guess I'm just too old school for this newer stuff.... I'm used to RAM running at actual CPU speed like on 8088's, 286's, 386's etc =D

Any help, and initial numbers/settings for achieving the 400 x 6.5 number that I need to shoot for would be greatly appreciated. Or if I can't do it, thats ok too.

Your multiplier is x4 so that makes the cpu speed 800MHz
your ram runs at half the marked speed, but is doubled, so 800MHz ram is actually running at 400, but doubling make it 800,
I'm unable to help further as I don't have any intel experience myself, but I'm sure someone else can chip in :)
