Ok, so this is my first system build. I've borrowed a 400w power supply from a friend and I'm on my way down to Frys to get a new power supply and cooling. Wondering what's my economical solution here to make this an OC'able PC. My friend got the H100 on his HAF X case but I'm not sure it'd fit on the HAF 932, also I'm guessing I could use a less hot running power supply, this thing runs really hot and isn't quiet at all. Also is air cooling going to be enough? What's the safe peramiters? I ran Prime 95 on my system with the auto overclock on my mobo which puts it around 3.5GHz and it was floating around 72-75 with the current crap stuff I was running. So if I'm gonna OC this thing I definately need to rework it.
Also forgot to mention, I'm using a old crappy mid tower currently, on my way to pick up my used HAF 932 now to help airflow and stop to look at cooling systems and better powersupply. Fast responses are welcome, I'll check from my too smart for me phone :) thanks!

Depending on how high of an overclock depends if you will need the H100. Generally on newer CPUs' air cooling is completely adequate. I'd recommend the NZXT havok 140 or the cooler master hyper 212+ both are affordable and have gotten excellent reviews. Just get a good 500w to 550w power supply and your system should be just fine.

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

Check this guide to know how to overclock the CPU: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] multiplier

Reagarding the PSU, I'd go with something above 500W from Corsair, Seasonic, XFX or Antec.

For cooling, the H100 can fit inside the HAF 932 without problems, but a good air cooler like the Noctua NH-D14 or some lines of Thermalright can do an excellent job. I'd not go above 55ÂșC on load in your CPU.

I have a great CPU Cooler, have the Corsair H100, buying my friends 80+ Gold Coolermaster (2 months old) 800 Watt, cause he's upgrading to the 1000 Watt cause realized he barely has the power for his current system.
