Because of space limitations in the NZXT Phantom this might be one of the only reasonable coolers.. but I'd like to know if it is decent at cooling without being loud?

Now when people say they overclock, is it only temporary or do they literally leave their computer overclocked permanently? Will it shorten the life of the cpu?

you can overclock a tad on stock so any aftermarket will get you much better. Yes they leave it overclocked all the time but the processors down clocks when not being stressed so not running max speed all the time. They cpu will last longer than you will use it...

So I was think about probably OC'ing it to around 4.5ghz when I get all the fans installed... doesn't seem worth going to 5ghz..

although maybe undervolting it and still overclocking it would be a better idea?
