Hoooold on. If this is a gaming build, you have to Intel. What's your overall budget?
In general, I recommend the 212+ and then the Mugen 3 at $30 and $50, respectively.

i have never been a big fan of intel. i have always like amd. i was more interested in what cooler would be best, not about changing my complete build. i have a budget of about $1700 to spend on the pc build.
PLEASE PEOPLE DONT TELL ME TO GO TO INTEL FOR A GAMING RIG. I AM ASKING ABOUT CPU COOLERS!
I stand by my previous recommendations (212+ or Mugen 3. You won't need any more than that, and I think it's worth starting at $30), but there's no reason to be closed-minded. The companies are quite similar. One just currently provides processors that work far better at the same price point. The latest Tom's "Best Gaming CPUs for the money has no AMD CPUs at all over $100. You can continue to insist on AMD for whatever emotional reason you have, but you're just shooting yourself in the foot. A 6100 will bottleneck your next graphics upgrade, forcing you to spend more money just to get worthwhile performance out of your next new GPU, but a 2500K would have you set for years.

I'm a solid amd builder but I must agree with Kaja, especially given your budget, sorry if thats not what you wish to hear but we will advise you whats best for you.
