EVGA recommends for a GTX570 550w with 38a on the 12v rails plus two 6-pin PCI-E power leads.
That covers the card plus the usual complement of drives, cpu, and fans.
The second card may use up to 75w for the pcie slot, and 75w each for the extra 6 pin power connectors, making a total of 775w.
Since the maximum draw is not likely, 750w should do it, but a bit extra is better to keep the psu in it's best efficient operating range.

I suggest 850w or 900w.
And, get a quality name brand such as Seasonic, PC P&C, Antec, XFX, or Corsair.

Here is a good PC P&C 910w unit for $130 after rebate:

Or, a less expensive XFX 850w unit for $90 after rebate:

Just use your current unit.
Really no sense switching it out, your system only pulls what it needs from the wall anyways.
You won't save any money buying a smaller unit.

Who cares if it is overkill? Why buy a smaller unit when you already have enough power.

I did not catch that the op already owned the psu, I thought he had it on a list to purchase.
Unless it is of abysmal quality, there is no reason to change it out.
