Faster clock speeds with AMD Catalyst Overdrive?

Forum Overclocking : Graphics Cards Faster clock speeds with AMD Catalyst Overdrive?

I have an MSI Twin Frozr II HD 6950 2GB. Unlocked shaders and overclocked to 900/1375 using MSI Afterburner. Everything was great and had no issues, until I tried to play Skyrim. Skrim crashes every single time within minutes while Afterburner is running. When I completely close it down Skyrim runs fine and I can play for hours.

So right now I'm using Catalyst Overdrive for my overclocking, but it only gives me a max of 840/1325. Not a huge difference, but I'd like to get back to the speeds I had before. Is there any way to unlock a higher clock settings in Overdrive?

Not that i know of, And Afterburner was crashing probably because of a high overclock.

Well obviously when you close MSI AB you loose your overclock, So I would hazard a guess that your game is crashing because the overclock isn't stable...

Increase the voltage or decrease the overclock.

I don't think it was the speed. If I have Afterburner running with stock speeds it still crashes Skyrim.

Did you set back to default in CCC and disable overdrive? If you do that, Afterburner should be stable in games with the right overclock settings. I use Afterburner in all games with a hiccup.
