I'd opt for the Gigabyte board as it has better expansion slots (for graphics cards, sound cards ETC..) and support for faster RAM.

VRM's (or Voltage regulator modules) deliver the power (from the PSU) to the CPU

Obviously when your overclocking your highly likely to increase the amount of voltage in order to sustain stability, with more voltage passing through the VRM's more heat is generated, so ideally when overclocking you'd want active cooling or atleast a heaksink over the VRM's to help dissipate the heat.

Seems alittle strange to me that your going for a low budget motherboard and watercooling..

Your RAM and case choice are ok considering your budget, what kind of water cooling are you thinking of? (closed loop system like a corsair H80 or a custom loop?)

Yeah nothing wrong with the H60, fairly good price at the moment as well.

Also I was wondering is are there any cheaper motherboards I could use? because the price is starting to creep a bit high, is there anything I could cut back on? Keeping an i5.

I've looked through Ebuyer, Ariia, Novatech and overclockers.co.uk and those are the cheapest s1155 boards if you want to do atleast some overclocking.

They're both EXTREMELY similar, the Gigabyte board has a slightly better audio chip and 1 PCI-E x 16 lane + 1 PCI-E x 4 lane as a pose to MSI's x1 lane... So I would choose the Gigabyte board unless its significantly more expensive.

IMO you wouldn't really notice the difference between either board, you may just want to go for the cheapest.

You would be able to connect the HD6850 to a VGA monitor but you would need either a DVI to VGA cable or adapter, the HD6850 may come with a DVI to VGA adapter but I'd buy one separately just in-case.
If your going to use a DVI to VGA adapter then you'll also need a standard VGA to VGA cable aswell.

I guess it's down to marketing, they want you to spend more money and buy a board designed for overclocking.
I believe some H61/67 boards have an "overclock button" where the board will overclock the processor, but not by much and doesn't allow for manual tweaking.

You could also adjust the BLCK frequency and memory speed on a H61/67 board just not the multiplier.

The Core i5 2500K is a fair bit faster than the 960T, you'd have to overclock the nuts off it to get near the performance of the 2500K at stock unfortunately

Below is a review comparing various CPU's, it doesn't include the 960T but the 965 and 955BE are pretty close to the 960T performance.

Its not a great cooler and I expect the airflow inside the case will be mediocre to be honest but I still reckon you could overclock a 2500K will less than stock voltage, perhaps to around 4 to 4.2Ghz

My old 2600K was a pretty bad overclocker but I could still get 4Ghz with 1.1V, the stock voltage was 1.28V.

As I sure your aware Watts = heat so undervolting and overclocking is a good idea if heat is an issue but you want maximum performance.

Hey Dude, it's been a while, I have built my pc completely, however when I turn on the power, I get the beep, all the fans and lights come on, but nothing shows up on my monitor.
What could be the problem?
