I have a COSMOS II case next week so space is not an issue.


I have 2600k CPU and Asus Deluxe LGA1155 Z68 Mobo

Ha! that was my exact predicament when I was standing inside of microcenter yesterday. I said screw it and just bought a corsair h100 which beats both. -_-

I was leaning towards the Frio though.



Also, you might think about upgrading the fans to Delta's in the future. (they're loud though)

The Hyper 212 Evo is fine for the 2600K. Sandy Bridge chips run quite cool and you will probably hit max voltage before temps become a problem. Keep your chip at 1.4v max, better is 1.35v or below if you want your CPU to last. I run at 4.5Ghz and 1.32v with Hyperthreading on and my temp are low 30s at idle and high 60s running Prime 95. Everyday temps do not go over the high 50s. I have a Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B. They replaced it with the Mugen 3 now though. I use IC Diamond thermal paste.

Any advice for the overclock?

Where can I go to obtain some basic settings to try that are known to work and run stable ?

The overclocking sticky is a good place to start. You can also google your board and I am pretty sure there will be guides. Even youtube videos. I have a P67 Gigabyte board with a different BIOS. In fact I actually still have a traditional BIOS. Gigabyte did not introduce UEFI until Z68.

The guides are not ASUS. I want exact board.

I have the new ASUS Bios... graphical.

Most is some other brand board...
