before i give you the background info, my main question will be as to any advice you can give me concerning aftermarket fans
so i chose parts for my first build. i had already placed the order, but couldn't help looking back over them online a few times in anticipation.
well, its looking like my cpu order doesn't include a stock fan. this was admittedly a newb oversight on my part, but having caught it before i started to assemble anything i'm not too worried. and i suppose it's just as well that i need to buy a fan, here's why:
the cpu i chose is -- AMD Phenom II x4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz
low clock speed for any of you enthusiasts out there i'm sure, and even as a beginner i'd like to see how much higher i can safely OC it, which i assume will be best done with some form of aftermarket cooling.
now, my case is a Rosewill Blackhawk, which is supposed to stay pretty cool, and i have a modular psu so the unobstructed airflow should help with that.
BUT -- i read a couple reviews of my mobo (ASRock Extreme3 970) which worry me a little bit if i want to OC.
1. "Chipset thermals are very high"
2. "Gets really hot for some reason... my north bridge is like on fire."
So now that anyone still reading gets a gold star, I'm wondering what sort of cpu fans I should look at that will work with all the above information. I'd like to find something pretty inexpensive that will still serve my mobo and oc needs. any advice on what factors to keep in mind?
thanks!

does my setup need liquid cooling? i was hoping to find a cost efficient heatsink + fan that would work (what i recently read is called an 'active heatsink')
but maybe fans alone cant handle overclocking heat... i'm new to most of this, so if anyone has some thoughts about when liquid cooling becomes a necessity, im eager to learn

thanks for the suggestion. given the price and great reviews, i think this is the cooling option i'm going to go with.
my only concern is that, according to some newegg reviews on my rosewill blackhawk mid tower, the hyper 212+ is pretty snug inside it - possibly requiring some slight dismantling of the case for a cleaner fit.

Coolermaster is a dishonest company. One example (there are others) is http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/art [...] iew/1034/9 I cannot recommend Coolermaster for ANY product, no matter how good. Fortunately, in every market where they are found, competitors offer similar products and prices, such as Xigmatek for coolers. So, you don't take a hit in the wallet for refusing to support a dishonest business.

Any 120mm tower style cooler will give similar performance. Your CPU is not unlocked, so I don't care to predict how high an overclock you'll be able to get. Good luck though. BTW, I like your case choice.
