Illogical 2500k voltages.

Forum Overclocking : Intel Illogical 2500k voltages.

Greetings, I recently started to push my 2500k a little more. The CPU is rock solid at 1.305V at 4.4GHz but fails prime95 miserably at 4.5GHz.

Today I decided to try and lower my voltages a bit more. Anything below 1.305V results in 4.4GHz failing prime95.

Defeated, I set the CPU voltage to Normal in BIOs setting to see how it runs. To my surprise, it runs 4.6GHz with CPU-Z reporting 1.248V.

So my question is, why is the CPU not stable at 4.5GHz@1.305V but stable at 4.6GHz@1.248V(Normal in BIOs).

At 35minutes of prime95 now, still no errors with round off checking enabled.
