Evening Peeps

Been looking at these 2 CPU heatsinks and wondering what would be the best to go for.

Not going to be overclocking, but my stock AMD cooler has a broken fin and it getting to around 40deg on idle.

What is the best one to go for.

One question with the Hyper 212 is how would i go about setting up the 2 fans as i expect 1 fan will be plugged into the CPU fan header on the Mobo. Where does the other one plug into? Does it have a molex on it or does it go onto another fan header.

Phenom 9650 and a GA MA770 UD3

Should be in my signature now as well.

I would look at the 212 EVO, It's the better model of that COOLERMASTER lineup and not much more money.

Evo looks good but it also looks massive.

Maybe need to measure the space I have avaliable and see if it fits properly.

You need a case at least 7.4"+ wide to use a CM 212+ or Evo.
Either one outperforms a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 .

Damn

My PC case is 8 inch wide.

Gonna be tight if i got one.

Might just go for it.

I prefer it over the Freezer 7 as its inline with the exhaust fan on my case.

The freezer 7 is up and down.

Question ? How easy is it to set up a push/pull config.

What did you order?

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO

£25.

Not bad.

Been looking at reviews and from what i gather, a push/pull only lowers it buy a few deg. Is it really worth it?

Cannot be any worse than my broken stock cooler.

You might get another 1-2C temp drop with another fan.
Very difficult to match fan though.
The only place that sells the matched fan is the CM Store.

Probably just leave it as is.

Thanks.

Got My 212 Evo last night and all i can say is wow.

Very easy to fit and missed my memory slots. Just fitted my Sharkoon T9 with a few mm to spare.

Idle temp is now 19 deg, and pc is a lot quieter.

Well happy with it.
