I would like to take my i7 2600k to 4.2 - 4.4 ghz. Was looking at Noctua NH-D14, but that thing is huge. So then was looking at self-contained watercooling: Antec Kuhler 920 and Corsair H100.

Then came across this new NZXT Havik-140 air cooler that is smaller than the Noctua, better performance than the Noctua in the Tweaktown test, and is the quietest air cooler in the Tweaktown test. And it's about $25 less than the Noctua.

Have very little experience overclocking. Would this air cooler work out with a i7 2600k @ 4.2 - 4.4ghz? I have an Azza Hurrican 2000 full tower case loaded with fans so there's plenty of airflow.

Well, don't know how I didn't find this sooner as I read a bunch of reviews of the Havik, but found this direct comparison between the NZXT Havik 140 and the Noctua NH-D14. Unless I hear different I'm going with the Havik.

just get the coolermaster hyper 212+ evo, its cheaper and performs as good as the mentioned products. Its perfect for getting that cpu to 4.5ghz.

Phanteks PH-TC14PE is a MONSTER for size and performance - I have one, I couldnt be happier with it (the temps are amazing even though im 90% sure I screwed up the Thermal paste application xD)
Its around the same size as the Noctua and performance is ~3C better in most tests.
Make sure its in your shortlist.

On this test they used Prime 95 and beat or equalled the Noctua.

Well, after (too) much research, I have gotten what seems to be the best option: the Havik 140. Went with it because it seems to be the most silent option while still cooling as good as the Noctua and others. Looks great. Haven't installed yet, but I'll follow up when I do.
