h100 but think of cash/performance ratio and depending on what you want done.

i5 2500k at 4.5 and a clean look inside a haf X so i def have the room for it lol

Reply to robthatguyx

Enthusiast I see! :) Have you looked into real liquid cooling? Check out the xspc rasa rx 240!

Reply to amuffin

well id like to be enthusiast lol this is actually my first build coming from hardcore console player

Reply to robthatguyx

If it's your first build, better to keep with the evo 212. H100 will have case compatibility issues if you don't do your research.

Reply to may1

tha haf x has mounts built in in the top of the case for it

Reply to robthatguyx

Or you could just an h80 :P

id imagine the cooling on a h100 is way better than h80 from its radiator size

Reply to robthatguyx

It is!
Closed of water is a good solution if you have a case that fits it and dont want to risk/put effort into the real watercooling.

id like real watercooling but dont want to pay for it and dont want to risk getting my components ruined

Watercooling is a pretty expensive hobby, but you only ruin components if you don't do your homework, do a crap job on assembly and don't leak test before powering up.

Reply to rubix_1011

doing a out of case test with a h100 is gonna be a pain in the a**

Reply to robthatguyx

Why would you need to leak test a closed loop cooler? It's sealed from the factory and doesn't need to be filled.

And no it wouldn't- you would simply run a molex/fan header splitter and jumper your PSU like you would with any other water loop fill to kick a pump on...

nono i mean , the tubeing isnt long and id have to lift the MB up with a radiator on it once i test it outside of the case to be sure everythings fine

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying...

Yes, you can easily power it up outside the case and not have it attached to anything at all except for power. You just need to disconnect your motherboard ATX 24 pin plug and jumper any green and black wire in the plug to power your PSU on for your 12v. You'd simply need to run a molex-to-fan header adapter to the pump unit. This is how we fill, bleed and leak test watercooling loops, but you shouldn't need to do this with a closed loop cooler- it's factory filled and sealed. Just look at the tubing/fittings closely to see if there are any leaks or any signs of coolant, install the cooler and power up as usual, when ready to do so. Keep an eye on all areas of the cooler, specifically around the pump/block portion and tubing connections on the pump as well as the radiator.

A custom loop is a bit of a pain to clean and setup. Not to mention very expensive.

Incorrect on a pain to clean/setup. Correct on price, depending on your resourcefulness.

Reply to rubix_1011

if i got one id want it name brand not fully custom

Reply to robthatguyx

What 'name brands' are you talking about? I'd consider full custom using proven watercooling components over something a loop that comes in a single box.

Reply to rubix_1011

idk but stuff like the cpu coverpeice i dont want that to be cheap and i dont want a cheap pump that will give out in a few months either

Reply to robthatguyx

I've used the same pump for over 6 years.

Not sure. If you want the tread closed, choose a best answer and I can close the thread once you are done. Otherwise, we can leave it open...up to you.

if you closed the thread wouldnt it allow people not to see it then?

Reply to robthatguyx

No, it stays available to read, just prevents people from posting replies. I guess a better term would be 'locking' the thread.
