[SOLVED] Throttling of Athlon x2 240 with C&Q disabled?

Forum Overclocking : AMD [SOLVED] Throttling of Athlon x2 240 with C&Q disabled?

Hello Toms-
I'm overclocking this daily driver I've had for a while and I can't figure out whey the multiplier keeps getting knocked down. It doesn't even get bumped back up when I start to encode a mp4.

It'll start up at 14 but very shortly thereafter get kicked down to x10.5

I'm running the fan that came w/ the chip and it'd idling down at about 30C. The PSU is the one came with the cheap DIT case. I forget now but it's either 240 or 300W

After 20 minutes of Prime95 (blend) it got to about 50C. Below is some other information. Any other ideas about why my multiplier is misbehaving?

I'd be very happy to run at 3.2 @ 1.375v but I can't keep it there. Also, the voltage reported by hw is actually 1.26.

Any help is greatly appreciated-

Thanks for the reply, I do already have the performance power plan selected.

What are your options you have selected in your BIOS? If you could list them and what they are set to.

Editl: Make sure your CPU Clock ratio and CPU Host Clock control is set to manual in your BIOS.

Thanks for your replies. I upped the voltage to 1.42 and it seems to be holding now.

I've been encoding DVDs for the last 4 or 5 hours now with no problem and system and CPU temp are both sitting around 48C.

I'm a happy camper now!
