Hey, I have problems with i7 860, When overclocking it and testing, after few min my screen freezes and I can't even move a mouse. So do anyone have any idea why my screen freezes with any kind of overclock no matter it is 3,2GHz or 4 GHz it freezes at 100% stress. Need a help cause I don't have any idea what is wrong.

Means you oc attempt is unstable.
reset your bios and try again.

Still not working, cleared CMOS, still same problem, think I have to use turbo boost then, think it's not just unstabelness, it's something else cause it's not stabel even if I raise PCI-E to near max and CPU PLL is 1,96, CPU Vcore 1,35 so it should be fine for 3,5 MHz overclock.

Yeah i agree your Vcore is fine.
What's your VTT(QPI)should be at least 1.35 and BCLK?
Disable EIST and C1E while trying to OC.
Your PCIE should remain at 100 leave it there.

Still same thing, do all what u said, but still screen freezes after few min 100% torture, BCLK was 165, and multiplier 21x, Vcore 1.35, Clock was 3,47MHz, I have 650W PSU and 6950 modded to 6970. I don't have enough power? Or I just can't OC my pc?

BCLK is too low maybe.
I'd try upping that and the vcore a bit.
Plenty of guides online.

170 BCLK, VCore 1.4, 3,57MHz, not stable. Looked all guides from internet and with 4 MHz overclock have 1.42Vcore, this guy have same problem as I do http://www.overclock.net/t/930339/ [...] power-loss

What motherboard do you have? Actually, list all your hardware please.

Motherboard: AsRock H55M-LE
CPU : I7 860
CPU cooler : Corsair H50
RAM : Corsair Vengance 1600MHz 4 GB, other socket is broken. So I have only 4 GB.
GPU: : Club 3D 6950@6970
PS : CoolerMaster 650W GX
1TB memory and one 64GB SSD.

I achieved 3,4 GHz with normal setting just raised BCLK and now just adding +5 BCLK and one Vcore up and when it's freezing just taking last settings on

Your motherboard is le suck for overclocking, frankly.

They only managed 3.75 ghz on an i7 875k, with 1.4V Vcore, 1.36V VTT which are rather high.

Dam it. Then why to *** here is "Auto overlock" in BIOS. Can be clocked to 3,6-4,2MHz :D. Tried 3,6Mhz first time when got this motherboard and it failed too :D

Reply to Nyppa

Well you can try that 50% auto overclock thing if you want...

Either way you should be good with where you're at. If you want more, check out P55 boards.

H55 boards are great for i3's.
i7's benefit immensely coupled to a P55 board.
H55's don't have the proper power phase requirements for an i7.= not beefy enough!
