Hey all, I was wondering if I could pick someone brains on one of my old rigs,

What's happened is that one of my Memory sticks (ram) died and I'm looking to replace it with something new but not to expensive around £30-40 tops -
but im not quite sure what I can go for and what I am allowed in my system.

Below is what I have and i'm just wondering if someone could help me out on what would be the best sticks of ram to get at the moment which would increase my
system mainly for gaming.

The main sites I usually purchase from is Ebuyer / Aria etc...

Many many thanks in advance!

Hey, Davcon thanks for the reply.

I was thinking of going for the http://www.ebuyer.com/275039-cruci [...] 25664aa80e

is there much difference?

and also my motherboard has x4 slots - could I possibly buy two lots of that and stack 8gb?

nevermind think I can answer my own question

Dual channel memory architecture
4 x 240-pin DIMM sockets support up to 8GB DDR2 800/667/533
non-ECC/ Unbuffered memory

Guess that means it should be fine xD

I also have a Z68 in my main rig with 8gb at the moment, it supports up to 32gb.
and I currently have munshkin blackline 8gb in it. would it be best to go for the same kit again or could i possibly get better since it's been about 8 months now since I purchased that.

8gb is standard fare for most set-ups.
16gb is beneficial for video editing and photo work.
Otherwise 8gb is fine for browsing and gaming.

Yeah I do 3D modelling and animation, so do quite a lot of rendering so guess it will help quite a bit. Is why I got the Z68 for the Video cache or something... dunno xD. Just got told it's good for 3D

Well 16gb is a good fit for your requirements = you'll notice it!
