False boot up

Hello, new hard drive installed,,, changed bios to suit. when system boots up sometimes the first screen comes on darker than usual and it wont accept my power on code. on retry a few times the bright screen comes on and my code is accepted everything then runs as normal...how do i remove this first screen boot up ..... thanks. nc6220 compaq

Need more info than "first screen", are you talking about the BIOS password, Windows Password, something else? If it's a BIOS password, go into the BIOS (usually F1, Del, or Esc) key, change it back to blank.
