I noticed my XP has a power savings option under control panel (oh really?) Anyways, I noticed that its set to desktop/home office and I have the otpion to shut down hard drives. Im ussing SSDs, should I check that?

In adition, it aprently has a nobreak tab. How dos the PC knows if its on nobreak?

I have XP Pro. My power options don't have a nobreak tab. This may have been added by some 3rd party software.

The only power saving worth using on a desktop is to shut down the monitor. If you don't use the PC for a while, put it to Sleep or turn it off.
