one of my 3 monitors on my work station takes up to 15 minutes to come on, it blinks, fades, blinks, fades and finally stays on --- home built system with Nividia card, AMD (ATI hardware and western digital hard drive ... system is 2 years old and has never given problems before --- once the monitor is on i have no problems so i set my screen saver on 10 hours --- I am not knowledeable regarding hardware

It sounds like that monitor is failing and needs to be replaced.
