If you have a CPU that supports 64-bit, then install Windows 7 64-bit. However, I would not run Windows 7 64-bit with less than 4GB of RAM. . .

First see if there are 64-bit drivers for your laptop - visit the manufacturer's website>support>your model number>drivers

If you find them, download them so you can install them after you load windows.
