1600Mhz or 1866Mhz?

To the point.

I have A-Data 2000X which is rated to run at 2000Mhz 1.65V and 9-9-9-24 Timing.

On my ASRock Z68 Professional Gen3 there are only five options 1066,1333,1600,1866, and 2133.

1866Mhz @ 1.65V 9-9-9-24 1T Is 9/10 Stable, 1/10 times windows blue screens after standby and boots up &memtest halting error.

1600Mhz @ 1.65V 7-7-7-20 1T seems more stable FSBRAM @ 1:6, no blue screens, but memtest halting error.

Test 1 : Does all old DDR3 (1.6v-1.8v) Ram work with Sandy Bridge @ 1.65V?
[b]Figured it out: Not all, some ram sticks were proven to work on 1.65V in certain forums from people testing them, for me, it does not. You might want to be extra sure and test the ram if you wanted to take it from an old build for SB. Recommended to use ram with Sandy Bridge's Voltage Specifications (1.5v-1.575v), you will get errors in Memtest, minor blue screens, and instability that you don't really notice.
Ram tested @4.5Ghz CPU overclock & stock settings (CPU @ 3.3Ghz)
1866Mhz @ 1.65V 9-9-9-24 1T - Memtest+ v4.20 = unexpected interrupt halting at 19%
1600Mhz @ 1.65V 9-9-9-24 1T - Memtest+ v4.20 = unexpected interrupt halting at 19%
1333Mhz @ 1.65V 9-9-9-24 1T - Memtest+ v4.20 = unexpected interrupt halting at 19%
1600Mhz @ 1.41V 9-9-9-24 1T - Memtest+ v4.20 = Stable
1866Mhz @ 1.55V 9-9-9-24 1T - Memtest+ v4.20 = Stable
Time for new ram.
Does Sandy Bridge Favor Higher Frequency or Lower Timing?:

Note: I posted this thread for help, and ended up finding the answers myself. Hopefully this will help someone else who is keeping their ram from an old i7 build and going toward a Sandy Bridge setup.

What is the best ram to get 8GB (4x2GB) for the Highest Performance|FPS? [1.5V]

Out of the other two 2133Mhz @ 1.5V, it had the lowest Timing (9-10-9-28). Is there anything better?

Also

If the memory controller is located on the SB CPU, having lower dram voltage = less hot CPU right? i noticed a 2-4C difference going from 1.65V to 1.41V but it might just be the cold night air idk.

I have the same question. I have a 2500K and a P8Z68-v Pro with my 2x2Gb previous generation (i5 750) RAM: Gskill Ripjaws DDR3 1600Mhz CL7 1.65v.
I have been thinking about upgrading to 6gb ou maybe 8gb and found this RAM really cheap:

2x1Gb DDR3 1600Mhz CL7 1.7v (OCZ3P16002GK), from 2007, from core2 duo generation, i believe. And the 1600Mhz CL7 is acomplished with 1.8v so I am afraid that I wont be capable of running it near specs.
This way I could have 2x2Gb + 2x1Gb @ 1600Mhz CL7. Do you believe that is possible? If I Lower the voltage to 1.65v, what will happen, from your experience?
