Media Player Crashes on MPEG2 Files

Forum Windows XP : Video Media Player Crashes on MPEG2 Files

Hello,

I can play mpeg2 video files with Windows Media Player 11 but when I exit, I get a hard error: AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 11.0.5721.5145 ModName: dscinemvideodecoder.dll

It's strange I can play the video but then it crashes. I had another problem right clicking on a mpeg2 file crashing explorer but got that fixed by removing the shellex registry entry for .mpg files. Also I have Nero Showtime from Nero 8 and it plays any video file without crashing.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!
